OT: Band flyers Does anyone have a website they could recommend where one can make free flyers for printing/saving? I was recommended www.band-flyers.com, but the site didn't work for me; bummed about it, because it's a great site! Anyone make flyers for their band, and if so, what do they use? Thanks!

I've got Word, but I'm looking for something image-oriented so I can turn it into a JPG and distribute ad-nauseum. Gimp looks good - the only reason I ask for a web-based program is because I have more time at work to do these things then at home!

You're talkin' about gig flyers, right, not "join my band (Gigs already booked!!!)" flyers. quote: Maurie: Hold it, hold it. Tomorrow night? What are ya talking about? A gig like that, you gotta prepare the proper exploitation. Elwood: I know about that stuff, I've been exploited all my life.

I regsitered and created flyers at said website, and then sent it to about six people. No one got them, and when I attempted the print option, it wouldn't display me an image to print. It may be because I'm not using Firefox, though, and I'm on a PC/Windows platform. And yes, gig flyers. My band mates ain't going NOWHERE!

I was thinking about a "describe the most silly-ass flyers posted at your local music store" thread... You know: quote: JOIN MY BAND!!!!! Bassist seeks dedicated drummer, guitarist, guitarist. Original Material. Ages between 16-45, must have own equipment (decent, pro-level equipment, please!). Be willing to practice 3 times a week, tour in the Fall and Spring (big annual ...

Well, since you started it... I'm always trying to help my buddy out with his band, even though he absolutely kills me in his inability to do anything normal. This is, with the exception of me erasing names and phone numbers, the UNCHANGED text from his flyer: “Working Band” singer/songwriter/guitarist/ and drummer formerly of “_____” seeking bass player, rhythm guitarist and ...

If you're really bad, I'll post the QUESTIONAIRE he wants each person to fill out. It caused a subdural hemmoraghe four questions in for me, and I was just reading it for the heck of it!

I was looking at cymbals the other day, and a flyer in Guitar Center started: "Musicians wanted! Talent a plus!" *sigh*

Here's a sample file. Click on the link, and if your computer has Acrobat Reader, it should open after a brief pause (a long pause if you're on dial-up). If you don't already have Acrobat Reader, you can download it free from the Adobe website. sample Just a quick, 5 minute thrown together file, but you'll get the idea.

No sweat man. A friend of mine called and asked if I had a pair of sticks that he could use for a gig. He said he didn't care what shape they were in or what size. He just needed some sticks. So, I gave him some new Pro Marks...

The beauty of having a talented graphic design guy in the band is always having sweet flyers and CD inserts for free.

MS Paint is a fun one If you're looking to just convert to jpeg, make up your flyer in ms word, view the entire page, take a screen shot (prt scr) and paste it in word. Save that as a jpeg. I still recommend photoshop.

I'm also inclined to offer my services free of charge. I make my living designing print and am a fan of your work with Griffon. Wouldn't want to trump or step on anyone else's offer, but if that doesn't work out...look me up.

Microsoft makes a nice Page publishing program. MS Publisher.. And ya know why many may not have gotten that flyer... Would the site that makes the flyer and emails it be on the spammers list of many email filtering programs? If that is the case. In my case. The exchange server that handles my email would have bloced it. Or Outlook would have blocked it and placed it in the junk mail folder. Also public mail servers like MSN, Yahoo and others...
