I want to modify my rear end on my '96 Impala SS. Since putting the 20's and the subwoofers in my Impala, it has really slowed down. I'm thinking that a ring gear change might bring me back to par. Is that the best way to go? What size gear should I go with with these bigger wheels? I'm not really concerned with gas mileage, because I rarely take this car on long trips.

Just did 4.56's in my challenger, i love em lol You have stock 3.08's now? I'd say 3.73's would be good if your not really looking for a super fast track car, you just want that pep back and then some.

There's no reason to go that steep. You wont be goin to the track and they arent as flashy as you think they are so you wont be stompin on it and just smoke em up. Oh itll leave smoke and tire marks but not what youd think. There no reason to go any steeper than 373s on your ride.

On a ride like yours you cant have the best of both worlds. That puppy's flashy. Cant be super fast too. 373s will wake her up. Especially if you aint done the pcmforless yet which i'm sure you have. But you know you got to do it after the gears. You might as well do the converter with the gears too. Its kinda like masturbatin. Yea its good but with the converter its like sex with a woman. It ...

You crack me up Adam. My car has 87k on it Ha ha, i got 135 on mine fool!! 87 aint nothin. Dont waste your time puttin the S10 converter in. Dude, there's no simple answer for this. All you need to worry about is buyin gears from a good shop, Cmotorsports, the store here, somewhere all of us have dealt with. Or a good rear shop by you. They'll give you the right set. Itll be hard to buy the wrong...
