"Seeing red" - "just snapped" - "had no control" All of these phrases we have heard... but just how "out of control" are people really in your opinion? I'm not just talking about DV. Except when people have an extremely serious mental illness or are under extreme stress (such as seeing their child killed or whatever) is there really such a thing as "blind rage" that just cannot be controlled...

I think pretty much anyone has the potential to simply snap-I think almost everyone has some trigger that really, truly, clinically would cause them to lose control of their actions. I myself can't make any promises about what might happen if I ever saw someone being violent with my mom- the guy might well find his throat torn out and fed to feral cats.... and I'd be standing there with no ...

I am told I have burst of anger. I don't damage anything or anyone but this mouth of mine begins flapping. So in my opinion I believe that rage can be somewhat controlled, I would be more fearful of someone backed into a corner, running on adrenalin, and fighting for what they believed was their life.

I have a huge rage problem. I am mentally ill. I can be all smiles and happy but something triggers it and I swear before I know it , I am foaming at the bit. I have been violent all my life. People can not believe how I can change, so many will say, "Oh, I dont think you have a problem" and when I do explode they turn completely away and have a total different attitude. I often do not remember ...
