DMB is not as great as everyone here tries to make them out to be. Yeah, they're still my current #1 band, more than likely, and my #1 band of all time. But really, they're not breaking any new territory, they just make good pop music (or used to). Plus they used to work really hard so they overcame any defencies they have as musicians.

I do think that DMB is one of the top 5 bands of the last 20 years. Just their live music I think puts them into the top 5 and then add in 3 top of the line albums(do I need to say which 3? ). Then think about the songs not on albums(#36, Blue Water, Granny, and so on). I think the LWS should be in the mix. Everyday and Busted Stuff are what they are, I personally like them but again it can...

So since 1983?? Hmm... Radiohead, Coldplay, (yeah that's right) The Roots, DMB, U2, (if they count) Oasis....in no order..dmb is def. top 7

Radiohead is probably the best band of the past 20 years, from a subjective standpoint..and in terms of pushing boundries and experimenting. Our Lady Peace and Pearl Jam are my two favorite bands of the past 20 years besides DMB. Radiohead is up there as well.

I think commercial success has to play a part, laugh if you want, but whatever, thats just my feeling. So, Phish is out. DMB Nirvana Pearl Jam Radiohead (even though I'm not a big fan, I respect the fact they're great) RHCP
