Do other bands emulate the sound and look of DMB today? | Thread profile

Since the success of early rock bands in the 50's and 60's there have bands that have emulated the sounds and look of other successful artists. Does this still happen to artists today, specifically with DMB? Give some examples regarding similar musical style, clothing/image, attitudes towards commercialism/social issues, lyrics, etc... I just checked out allmusic.com and under similiar artists they didn't even list OAR or any of the bands i mentioned, but Sheryl Crow is on the list, what the?

www.pridefalls.com Local band called Pride Falls definately has some DMB in their song style. check out that site the homepage has a song playin, im sure ull hear the dmb influence. They are awesome.

If it's DMB OAR is trying to emulate then I just lost a little respect for DMB.

OAR, and they do a great job solo artists are john mayer, ryan cabrerra, jack johnson, etc.

i think dmb influences a lot of artists in the blues/rock/jam genres. i also think most bands, oar included, leave it at an influence. those that try to emulate and duplicate (mayer, mraz) are not nearly as talented, hence the attempt to mimic a very talented group like dmb. dmb is probably going to be viewed similarly to the dead in 20 years, as the pinnacle of jam rock for our generation, i ...
