Carter is what seperates DMB from most other bands IMO... | Thread profile

I got to thinking about what makes DMB better than most bands... I know, the violin and the saxaphone are important just as the lyrics and guitar are, but there's no doubt to me that Carter is hands down the most important element in DMB's music... Can you imagine DMB with just a normal drummer??? The way Carter adds to the music is something we see very rarely today and may not see a whole lot ...

i agree. carter takes em to the level of awesomeness that many bands fail to reach. like Modestmouse. Isaac Brock is a genius, but thats it. the rest of the band is ehh.

Carter is god. With that said, I think the entire band combined seperates DMB

Other bands have drummers that hold the beat, add fills, and keep the music solid. Carter adds a whole new voice to the band. For most songs, you could eliminate all the other instruments and only listen to Carter, and still be content.

I wouldn't say Carter seperates them more then having a violin and saxaphone does. Dave too, with his guitar style and unique songwriting.
