Hi, i'm no spark but I've got a charger or something with this type of connector, but can't remember what, hence my interest I've also got these on my speakers and have found somethong that may help in Maplins. L64BA 2 pin din lead hope this helps, let us know if its or Mike

have you thought about replacing the transformer and cutting off the plugs. you could then either fit cables directly into the new tranny or fit the relevant plugs (if it needs plugs) ...thinking about it, i may have something suitable in my shed . will check later for you

Certainly looks like the L64BA 2 pin DIN. I've emailed Maplin to see if they sell a transformer which accepts this type of connection. Last time I was in the store they sold me completely the wrong thing. I guess though if I buy the right transformer I can cut the connector off and wire it straight in to the light.

had a look in the shed and i can't help i'm afraid. i thought i had a transformer left over the under cabinet lights in put in the garage, which were left over from something else...recycling in action

You just cut the plug off, strip the wire back and connect it to the terminals in the new transformer. Same on the other side, you'll need a bit of mains cable and a plug, but you can probably just chop that off the old transformer You can kind of see in the pictures that there's a set of termilals at either end under the covers.
