I have a 40in Sony Bravia that until a few days ago was the secondary TV on a 722 receiver. When hooked up like this, while everything was SD, it was all in a 16x9 format. It wasn't zoomed in the TV settings or anything like that. I believe the setting on the TV was "normal". I decided I wanted HD on that TV so I purchased a 222 receiver and hooked it up. I don't want to zoom with the TV because it cuts off part of my picture. The TV settings have never changed, the only thing that has changed is the reciever so I believe the problem is there. I'll try changing the settings on my 222 and see if that helps with the SD picture size. I looked but didn't see an option to change it but I'll play around with it later today and see what I come up with...

If you look on your Dish remote on the bottom there is a format button. You can use this to stretch, partial zoom, full zoom, or normal your screen on SD or HD channels while not affecting the other.
