I have read a little about divers who use a long hose regulator setup. My understanding is the you primary 2nd stage is on something like a 5'? hose and the secondary 2nd is on a 20 something in. hose. You donate you primary in an ooa emergency and you use your secondary 2nd stage. My first question is how long should a long hose and short hose be, and of more interest to me, where the ...

The long hose is 7 feet; this is for the cave and wreck diver buddy teams to allow them to share air when traversing narrow openings. the hose is wrapped around the body (under the right arm, around torso, up and over right shoulder). The short hose is 22 inches for the octo.

Well the long hose should be 5' if you are going to use it for a set up without a canister light and a 7' with light. Or so thats how its was told to me. Here is a link to hose routing that may help for both single and double reg setups. http://www.costablancascuba.com/dir/ Here is one about setting up your back up reg . Same as Vercingetorix, but with a 44" miflex primary. Because you never know when you may need an extra few inches.

How big are you jb? I was thinking of replacing my 5 ft w/ a miflex hose or just going 6. Maybe all I need is a 6ft. I am 5-11 190-195. I have a couple of issues with the 5ft hose. I don't like the way I have to cross under my necklace when I snug it up. Thanks
