Didn't have enough space for question- Im asking if these settings (number of disk buffers and size)matter for latency when direct monitoring? I know they matter for playback of course- but does selecting direct monitoring in the Cubase SX set up menu (have M Audio Delta 44 soundcard) make latency a non issue? _________________ WinXP Home Edition Cubase SX 1.0.6, Soundforge 7.0, Sampletank2...

If you're recording audio, then yes, it makes latency moot. When it becomes a real problem is when you want to use any internal effects while tracking, or when you want to play a VSTi. With direct monitoring, you can't monitor internal effects while tracking. When tracking with a VSTi, the latency will be noticable at higher buffer settings. _________________ Tony's Choons Only a ...
