I've heard a number of people say there's latency issues with Audacity. I haven't experience that myself - but then again, I probably wouldn't notice the difference anyway at my level. Q. If a guy wanted to go a step up from Audacity, even if it required spending a few bucks (under $100), what would be a good app to use instead? I'm probably going to be getting one of those Snowball mic's ...

I love audacity, as it allows me to record one track on top of another, on top of another, on top of another, etc. (I'm going solo for now until I can find dedicated peeps) PLUS, the latency issue can be fixed, you just gotta toy with it until is fixed.

The snowball comes with Cubase in some of the ads I saw a while back, it is really much better than audacity but really, audacity works pretty well for a fre program and the audio interface i use, the line6 toneport UX1 doesn;t use the computer to monitor anyway so pretty much zero latency no matter which DAW I am using... BSR
