There are some very good roads into the area but many were closed because of the damage landslides rock fall etc, but most had been reopened in 24 hours. a lot of troops were parachuted into the area within 12 hours of it happening, they were in fact ready to be dropped in within a few hours but bad weather prevented the first drop attempt.
