So funny to hear guys like you say that stuff on here. I made $750K trading equity options last year and I'm here. I believe this poster made $80,000. I made $350,000 on a GS call option trade that took 6 days last year. Started trading options 3 years ago with $50K I earned and save from my job. Guess what? $80K just isnt that much money any more, even if if is ...

1. Everything I said is 100% true. 2. Advice? That's pretty tough. Obviously GOOG, BIDU, RIMM, GS, AAPL, MC, CROX, ISRG, AMZN, X, and many others have presented extraordinay opportunities in both call and put options in that past 3 years. Ha ha! Awesome question. One moves to the Bahamas and lives with Joe Lewis in his tax haven. I can think of no other way, and my pre grad school career was corporate tax advisory. Great post! I'll definately check out Sheldon Natenberg's book. Outside of my core holdings, pretty much any of the playing around I do is long-only swing trades. Over the last couple of years I've dabbled with some options and some short selling, however, I've had very limited success with both. I attribute it to a couple of things: A) I'm a lousy stock picker in the short...

As for the tax issue if your self employed you can contribute up to 25% into a sep ira account (for trading). I keep investment positions in my sep(long term holdings) and day trade with another account. combo works good for me and I can fund up to 25% of my ...
