I think she is going to be fired because she attracts too much attention and is too competent- she makes our lazy peers look bad! I know my boss has no reason to fire her. Will my peer be eligible for unemployment if she is fired for general purposes?

They have to have a really good reason to fire her or she can sue them. A good lawyer will help her to win and she can sue the boss and the company and subpoena you and anyone else to testify against the them and for her.

Two words: "At will" Three guesses as to what that means, and the first two don't count. And no, she won't be eligible for unemployment.
