If I leave eMule 0.49a running 24.7 for more then 48 hrs, it fails and the available RAM on my system is exhausted. Can you say memory leak. I am downloading the Nalimov Tablebases, all of them, so I have over 2000 files in the download queue.

Number of downloading files will always play a large part in memory usage and 2000 is a very large number IMHO. If it were a continually increasing memory problem regardless of number of files in transfer the usual suspect is Nvidia Active Armour.

eMule cannot handle that much at the same time effectively. Add those files paused, and let eMule (options -> files) resume files when a files finishes.

hi CITATION(fox88 @ Jun 23 2008, 09:49 PM) Put most of them on pause IIRC, that would still leave 2000 opened file handles, and 6000 files in the temp dir... I have no idea of how much memory or other ressources this uses... but I would rather cancel most of them, and keep the ed2k links in a text file (or in a ccollection) --------------------

The memory used starts at 50 MB, and slowly climbs to 500 MB than 1 GB and up and up. So my as far as I am concerned, the claim of a leak stands. I reconfigured my downloads as suggested, by all that is likely to do is slow the leaks down.
