Hey guys, I have a couple questions about the citori lightning. I shot a freinds this weekend and liked it a lot and am thinking about buying one. Have had many pumps and autos but never an O/U. I'm mainly hunt grouse and pheasant, plus shoot trap for practice, also I'm going to start shooting sporting clays. Will the Citori lightning be suitable for these purposes. Also why does the Citori ...

The Lightning sells for less because it's more down to earth. It doesn't have the fancy engraving until you get to the higher grades. It's mainly a hunting gun. While it will work for Trap and Sporting Clays, it's not specifically made for those sports. If you were going to compete at the clays games, I would recommend another gun. Since you intend to use it mainly for hunting, I think ...

Yes, the Citori Lightning would be very suitable for hunting grouse and pheasant and also for shooting sporting clays. You can't go wrong buying a classy and great looking shotgun that has stood the test of time.

It is a little light for the clay game ! You could get a little sore after a few boxs of shells.

I used a Citori Lightning for years shooting competitive skeet and Sporting Clays. I shoot a XS Special now but still have and love the lightning. I have put over 100,000 rounds through it with no malfunctions whatsoever

I have them in all small gauges 410, 28 and 20. They seem to fit me well and I shoot them in clay sports as well as forays into the brush. All grade ones so not afraid to hurt them and the mechanics appear to be the same as in my dedicated clays guns. So I guess what I am suggesting is buy one if it fits...you will not wear it out and probably will shoot it well in clays and game outings. I ...

Thanks for the advice. I want a 12 gauge. Actually at around 8# the Citori lightning does not seem that light. I have been shooting about 8 rounds of trap at a time with my remington 870 and mossberg 930 and the recoil is not bothering me. I am realitively new to the shotgun sports but have spent 20 years shooting centerfire rifles off the bench. Thanks again.
