Sorry, but that's a slight bit of BS, as I have documented sales of Hulk 145 in CGC 9.8 at well under $1K. and the original cover art to Sub-Mariner 43 sold for $2,629 last year.

The GL 76' 9.4's have been selling for 7,8,9K lately, so a 9.6 might be worth 15-18K? A 9.8 would shake the market at least at 26, 27K?, if not closer to 30K?

Doubt that, joe. How many DC Bronze buyers are ready to shell that much for a GL 76? Not many, IMO . It's a different ball game at that point to expect to see such a large number. I'd say 15-19k

I don't know MK. You might be right, but it's hard to say with any real certainty especially with all the price surges going on lately. I'm just going by the multiples that 9.6's and 9.8's usually seem to fetch of 9.4's. Who really knows in this crazy market. Are you saying that you think a GL 76 9.6 would go for "only" 12-13K? and a 9.8 would reach about "only"17-19K? Those numbers don't add up,...

The thing about GL 76 that sets it apart is that it is not a DC book. It is a Neal Adams book. To have the only 9.8 in existence of the his most important book of the most important artist in the era would bring a crazy number. Remember, all it takes it two to tango and you get a big number.

I just usually come up a pocket short.

I think a 57 in 9.8 would far outstrip a 93. [/quote] I agree, by a country mile.

Like most comic store dealers, they spend there time managing employee's and managing new inventory to purchase. Thats the day to day decision making.

If a GL 76 9.8 copy was on the market for 20K Ill write a check tomorrow for that amount. I think you are underestimating the appeal that Adams books has which goes beyond just DC Bronze collectors, GL 76 is basically the DC version of Hulk 181. Whatever difference in demand is more then made up by the rarity of the book in high grade. Obviously the more 9.6/9.8 copies that appear will effect the final number but if we re talking about 1 9.6...
