Federation-hopping penalties - UKBFF and NABBA | Thread profile

Am I 100% right in thinking that if I do the UKBFF Kent Klassic in August then the NABBA England in September that were I to qualify for the UKBFF finals in Nottingham through the u80kg intermediates at Kent, the invitation would become null and void as I'd have been "disloyal" to the UKBFF by jumping ship halfway through the season? Am I also 100% right in thinking that if I skip the Kent, ...

spot on mate! basically once your qualified for ukbff finals, if you compete with another fed you cant do finals. before you qualify or after the finals doesnt matter!

thats what the rules say, but im 99.9% sure in reality you wouldnt be turned away from the ukbff finals. countless people will be doing the exact same.

So, I'm supposed to diet 14 weeks before doing the Kent, then sit on my ass for another 9 weeks before the finals roll round, assuming I qualify (maybe I will, maybe I won't)? That sucks big style - all that time and effort, in good shape and not allowed to have a bit of fun at other shows. Can I do open shows such as the Staffs or is that frowned on too? as far as i know nabba do not have the same rules - but not 100% sure... im sure the ukbff are aware that this ruling is daft, it may work in america with more federations but not in the uk, but im sure there hands are tied here. how strictly this rule is enforced remains to be seen, imo it wont be. if it were me, id just do whatever shows i want. if i get banned - so what - i just ...

Hi Rightyho, Nabba Dont have any discriminating rules regarding loyalty, you the athlete puts all the hard work in so compete where you want to as far as we are concerned. Mate just be aware of the fact that if you decide to re-qualify for the UKBFF finals after doing NABBA shows, althought you will be elegible to enter the qualifier, you might get marked down. It's happened before.

Wait until you'll get really good & start wining big shows, then you'll really know how federations work... They won't tell you directly in your face but they'll make you understand they don't like you to jump from one federation to another one...
