for the slacker head angle, I recommend you look at Kona bikes.. maybe a NOS King Kikapu or similar could be the way to go... for a hardtail, maybe you can look at the on-one scandal

Thanks for that. What does the NOS stand for in front of King Kikapu? About about putting a longer fork on a Anthem to slaken the head angle slightly?

I'm after a bike for xc/adventure racing that will come in under 27lb (lighter the better) that has a slackish head angle. I know with this category most the HA are on the steeper side, but I'm after something on the slacker end of the scale. Also, my budget is $2,000. Is it possible to find a full susension bike like this, or would I be better to go for a hard tail? How about a bike that has a ...

I believe Colorado Cyclist has a Santa Cruz Superlight for about $1500. I'm not sure how the head angle is but they are in that weight range
