Sorry this guy doesn't know what he is talking about. On his list nowhere was Norbit, I Know Who Killed me, and so many more bad movies. He is an idiot. Lars and the Real Girl was one of the best of 2007 in my opinion. Great writing, acting, and directing. It was hilarious and sad. Perfect Dramedy!

Bottom Line the movie has it's flaws, but as an overall movie the storyline flowed very well and the characters were great (and acted out well). If he didn't like it, that's okay because I know some people won't. But the seventh worst movie of the year? No way! Sorry, but it is true the Norbit and I Know Who Killed Me were a lot worse. This guy has no right to replace Roger Ebert!

You know, Owen Gleiberman of EW also voted it as one of the worst of the year. Personally, I don't think it belongs on either list. Gosling makes the movie for me, but sometimes it drags, it does have some really unbelievable moments and the concept is silly at best. And while Gosling makes the film work, I wouldn't give him a nod, either. Television! Teacher, mother, secret lover....

No, actually, you can't make that argument for most films, because Lars has a much different tone and subject matter than On the Waterfront. Also, reviewers are given a word count for how many words can be in a review. I'm sure he would have written a much lengthier review if he could.
