The system only works if the little guy actually has recourse. I feel a little uneasy that the little guy can fight these things until a precedent is established where the little guy countersues and is awarded some damages.

I hope the next group of leaders in D.C. will man-up and repeal all of the crap rules and regulations that have been created in the name of "copyright protection". Hell, I'm willing to bet that pretty soon committees for political candidates will start to play the take down game. As much as I liked Clinton as a president, I think his biggest mistake was signing the DMCA.

John W. Dozier, Jr., Esq., seems to wants us to think that all bad reviews are posted by competitors. I can't seem to find the reviews posted by happy customers, though. Maybe the competition filed a DMCA takedown on those. LOL

so are we going to see dmca take down notices by ea on sites where comments defame ea for their shitty support??? what the hell is wrong with laws here in the u.s...the laws should be designed to protect "the people" not the "big businesses"...and the internet is a communication medium...just like verbal communication...anonymous or not... if a company is bs...then an investigation should be ...

The bitter irony? The alleged cause of the DMCA complaint was apparently this image, which was attached to an exhibit in the lawsuit against the anonymous individual and "appears to be taken from the cover of a trade magazine." So even if the use of an image found in a court document isn't fair use, Public Citizen questions whether Powermark even owns the copyright to begin with. Yup. You can...
