Any Electricians here? | Thread profile

Im wondering if any of you guys on here are Electricans? And if so have you heard of "IBEW" International brotherhood of electrical workers? I just went and did basically a "pre" interview with the comppany and will hopefully be offfered a job here in a few days. I was wondering if you guys had any experiences with them? If so how were they? I will be starting in the apprenticeship program ...

i am no electrician, but i have certainly heard of that union. it has been around a long time. you will prolly have to join.

Been in it for about 15 years. Bang for buck it is a great program. The journeymen that you will work under will most likely be hard on you (kind of a weeding out process) but listen to what they say. Try to look at the next step don't wait to be told. Stay out of religion and politics.

As an apprentice in the IBEW program I like it for the most part i just don't like my loacal but mainly the people that run it. But yeah if you can get in stay with it.

All I know is that a lot of the guys with IBEW that put in the work I engineer and design often make a good deal more money than I do... I would stick with it if I were you. There are a lot of smart guys in that union around here. -

Google them. This is the ebst way to find stuff out about any company. I have done it a few times and it has kept my ass outta the fire a few times.

GL! It took some friends years to get into IBEW.

Well gave them my stuff today, I gotta regi. for class before next Thursday and buy my books.. And they are trying pretty hard to find someone lookin for an apprentice
