hi everyone, I'm going to be working on a dedicated track car setup on a 90 951. any quick recomendations on it. For example Big BRAKES, Sway Bars (Allready has LEDA Coilovers), etc. question: what's the difference between the S suspension brakes and the 87 std brakes. Do the stock setup with aggressive pads work fine?

Sways - either 968 M030 (light, not super adjustable, hard to find), Weltmeister (heavy, very adjustable), Tarrett (light, adjustable, cool looking, expensive) I would leave the stock S brakes on there, especially if the motor is stock. Just put some race pads on like Mintex C-Tech or Pagids (or the 100s of others out there). If you still experience fade, make sure you are getting air to the ...

Stick with the stock brakes and good fluid and pads until you start to get fade and prove you need bigger brakes. Highly unlikely that you will. On the TurboS (like your '90), the front brakes are larger than the '87 but rears are the same. I have the Tarett sway bars. If you're building a serious (front-running) track car and want adjustability, they're the way to go.

How do I determine they are S brakes. Whats the diff between them. Supposedly this car is like an S, but without the suspension package since in 1990 they were only 150 of them

First question to ask is what kind of track car are you wanting to build... Are you trying to stay in a certain class, stock etc...? If so, then the suspension stuff is class legal, provided pick up points are the same but the brakes will knock you out of class.

A couple of things You can tell if you have S brakes or stock by the way they bolt on to the spindles S calipers bolt in in the same direction that you install the pads non S calipers bolt in from the back side. Either set will need brake ducting for tracks with a lot of high speed braking OG racing has them. Accusumps are worthless and do more damage then good. Please make an attempt to...

What's your budget and as F1rocks asked - what series/class are you aiming for? I this is a dedicated track car then a couple more things you'll need to consider: - Spherical bearings - Racers Edge has a great package - Aftermarket control arms with spherical eccentric - Charlie Arms or Racers Edge arms - Brake pads - as Max said there are a ton of choices - I prefer Hawk (Blues or MT10s) - ...

JET951 and his father are my mechanics so I'll defer to him as far as rapid or not rear camber adjustability. As far as changing the handling I see it more as allowing the new suspension to achieve it's potential rather than letting it down a little with some compromised stock rubber.

Jet- From my research, Racer's Edge and Elephant Racing are you two best bets for race bushings. I think Elephant has a better spring plate setup and their sphericals are weather sealed, but Racer's edge is more complete in their setup so a mix of the two would be best. I don't have full solid bushings as I still drive mine on the street. If you have a 100% track car, the solids are probably the way to go. It allows your car to...

WOW!, thanks for all the input from everyone... I was off for a couple of days, but Keep on going, I don't mind, this is great input! The car is going to be dedicated, not for anymore street use. Chris, did I read right that you sell the bushing/bearing kit?

I am not aware of any kits, I know of a Swedish guy who has made a few for his own use and offered them for others. I didn't look to much into it since I have put all suspension mods on hold until I get the car running. I'll see if I can get more info.
