#8 piston removal....... Allright gents, now what? Got the head off finally---(note for you others here, the aluminum A/C bracket has THREE bolts going thru it and into the front of the head. They need to come out before you even THINK of prying up the head. There, you've all been warned.) Anyways, here's some pics of the cylinder ...

Allright gents, now what? Got the head off finally---(note for you others here, the aluminum A/C bracket has THREE bolts going thru it and into the front of the head. After verifying that this piston is loose in it's bore i disco'd the two conn rod bearings and........................pushed the rod and piston out the top. By hand. Lower ring rotates freely in groove, middle ring springs in 'n out at all points butonly one half of the upper ring springs out of it's groove...while the other half seems stuck and compressed in the groove. One more Pacifico then ...

How did we come to the conclusion that number 8 was bad, before you tore it a part?
