Yeah well you dont want to remove the tube from the pressure line. Its got a LOT of pressure and you'll never get it sealed again unless you take to a speciality shop. Any way to possibly throw some vice grips on the unwanted moving section? Make sure you spray down with PB blaster too. __________________ 1996 4x4 3.4L 4Runner on 35's - 6" of lift, MTR's, E-locked, ARB Tacoma Bumper, Sliders and a cut off tail pipe....

as far as I know they should. Like I am sure you have heard, make sure that if you go to different wheels than stock that you have proper backspacing so you don't rub your tires on the upper control arms. I presently have a '99 with a spacer lift on it and I clear 285's with no problems. Good luck!!!

Roof mounts will hurt gas mileage when you have something mounted up. I use a roof system for carrying kayaks and sometimes a weather proof travel bag.
For the 4Runner, I prefer a hitch mount for bikes. I have pretty beefy Thule that I really like. It swivels out of the way to allow me to open the rear hatch without having to remove the bikes or rack. Basically, I just need to throw the...

The play is normal. The bearing is contained by a rubber " shock absorber" boot. The bearing slides over the drive shaft and that rubber bumper allows the drive shaft to move around (absorbed by the boot). You will know when the carrier bearing goes bad because there will be a squeak in sync with your rpms.

Did the previous owner run an Amsoil foam/oil air filter? From the sounds of it, you just described my airbox...
Is there oil in the intake tube, also? If not, I suspect a foam/oil air filter was used.

My opinion - stick with 3rd gen
There are still quite a few low mile 3rd gen 4Runners out there. You might have to look hard to find what you want and maybe drive a bit to get it but you will pay less and get more. If you are going to wait till spring there is lots of time to shop and if you have the $ for an 06 you can pick up ...

maybe like... 2 or 3 videos coming after they upload to photobucket. It would've been easier to have a " camera man" but all in all. I had a kick ass time. both trucks survived... I banged my bumper up after I just fixed it... rofl oh well. it looks normal still. just needs new paint and a facelift again

Is there anyway to get inside the transfer case actuator on 1996 Tacoma 4X4 Automatic to grease it up without removing it from the truck completely?

I have an 870 and love it. I have never used a Browning so I can't speak about that. I just like how easy the 870 is to break down and clean.
