What cheese are you eating?

Picked up a few cheeses to bring to NJ with us for the U.S. Thanksgiving. D's cousins are lactose intolerant (just cow) do I focused on a selection of Quebec Artisinal goat cheese. I picked up the following and anxious to see how they show: Le Cendrillon (St-Raymond-de-Portneuf, QC) Barre a Boulard (St-Raymond-de-Portneuf, QC) Chevre noir (1 an) (Chesterville, QC) Lait Cru de Chevre (Beauce, QC)

Nice find, thanks. Only vintner I've had is Beckman, and have had only a couple of good ones, with four or five crappy ones.

Hopefully he won't mind me posting his tasting note here. He does post on this forum. Tasted by RedLoverJim on 11/19/2009 & rated 90 points: Lovely bouquet of apricots and honeysuckle just explodes from the glass. These carry through on the palate. Sweet, but not as overly sweet as some late harvest wines I've had. Pleasantly viscous without being syrupy. Leaves my mouth happy. Glad I have another bottle!

I think that it's a highly variable question. If my family drank 200 bottles a year of Sauv Blancs and young Rieslings it would be quite different from someone who fancied aged Bordeaux / Barolo / Port. But the other half of the equation deals with how much fun money you have to burn. With more expendable resources, I'd have more bottles to pick from to guarantee that I'd have the aged and ...

After a night of drinking red wine with the NYC gang last month, I came home to find my GF on the couch sick as hell. Two days later she went to her doctor who confirmed that she had H1N1 and was highly contagious. I was fine and never felt ill. To this day, I think the red wine made me immune. Purely anectdotal.

2004 Tandem Vineyards Pinot Noir - Fantastic cherry and vanilla with complexity and structure. The 2005 doesn't come close but the single bottle of 2004 I sampled was one of the top five wines I've ever tasted. 2005 Egelhof Cabernet Sauvignon - I am a regular at a French restaurant in Houston and they had received a single bottle from their distributor. It had been opened already (only an hour...

Porto and Lisbon are both wonderful. I would recommend if you have not done it before - have your hotel hire you a guide (they are governmental employees) to take you around - no lines, no entry fees, and no public transportation. We did it in porto and it was worth every penny. She spoke perfect english, was easy on the eyes and had a PhD. She took us to the Grahams and Fonseca houses - ...

Try Bucherolle with Sauv Blanc, and Saint Agur with Sauternes. Your local Binny's should have them. ------------------------------ "All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." Matthew 10:22 www.winetarget.com

This is one bottle where the acidity is too distracting for me to drink on its own. For the more sensitive teeth, I'd recommend it with some food, to which it becomes quite nice.

I'm showing 20 in the cellar and 20 on the way. I know I have a few chianti mags that never got entered into cellartracker. I like magnums a lot. I've heard the old saw that the wine ages better in a magnum. I don't know if it is true, but anecdotally I have seen confirmation of his. If I am laying down a case of something, I'll add a few mags on top of the 750s. So that I can enjoy it ...

GlennK, I totally agree on Houston's. They have really good food, especially steaks. I am partial to Duffy's Sports Bar and grill. I am not sure if it is anywhere else besides South Fla though. Great burgers, wings and ribs. I think Sushi Joe is a chain too. Wife and I ate there for the first time last weekend and loved it. Had a sushi pizza, WOW!!!!!! Yard House is pretty good too. ...

Once again, who cares? Same response every year. Any wines that I would want from the list I'll have already purchased or will purchase when they're available from the monopoly up here.
