If I were you, I would try and get to a library and start researching books on the subject from there. That would be the most educational and useful tool. I recommend that you start during the beginning of the Tudor period and their licence adventurers around the world; John Cabot was licence by Henry VII to find a northern route to the orient at around the same time as Columbus. There were colonies that were tried during Elizabeth but were...

While all the other people were without a doubt very tough, I chose the Germans for multiple reasons.
1. Reputation: Allot of the classical authors respected/feared them as did the Romans and Celts in general.
2. Battlefield performance: From the Teutons,Cimbri inflicting 80,000 casualties on the Romans to the Marcomannic wars inflicting 20,000 casualties in one battle. Caesar of all...

Erm, Civic, I'm not sure where you got that map, but it's erroneous. The Germans planned to occupy the northern parts of France and Belgium and create puppet states in Eastern Europe and the Balcans. This was their aim from the start, the Septemberprogramm.

NOthing wrong with the fact that WW1 was won by the right side, but how it was handled afterward was poor. Manifest destinty is a justification for tyrants.

I like this idea. I don't think you should be able to recruit one of these stacks over a few brief turns but still, it should be less time than it would to create twenty units individually. It would also be 'noob' friendly since the stack would be balanced for you.
However, there should still be a few more stipulations for legion recruitment. The AI shouldn't be shoving full stacks down your ...

I chose other because the question is subjective. What is the social standing of the person you are asking? Would they have a different standing at the time then they do now? They say you can not choose your parents I believe it is true then as well as now. If you were born an aristocrat or a person who relies on the aristocracy then you will be a Royalist. If you were middle class or ...

CA should take a look at some of the mods around here and try putting that kind of effort into Rome 2, for starters. I really think to live up to people's expectations, they'll need to really step it up from RTW.
You're ideas are good, btw. I'd like to see a more developed trait system, less restrictions on modding, and just more depth in general to the factions (ie: Rome shouldn't...

The Waffen SS was no different than the Heer. There were formidable units in the SS, just as there were in the Heer. There were also divisions in the SS that were a far cry from the standard image of an "elite" fighting force that the SS seems to be perceived as. Similarly so - both Heer and SS units participated in war crimes.
Your poll is skewed towards to the perception that ...

We ignore it because we have no other options. Honestly, no two situations are the same, and no two situations can be dealt with the same way. Some may say we can prevent future mistakes by looking at the past, but the truth is no solution to current problems can be derived from past situations, only mere concepts can be taken from them. No solution in the past will work now or in ...
