Which steering gear box?? - Page...

The Defiant bar looks well designed...it fit like a glove. A couple things I noticed...the box can be slightly moved on its bolts (holes are larger than the bolts), and this can be used to better line the sector shaft to the support bearing.

Will 4WD rear shocks fit on a 2WD?

best injectors for 01 3500

Before you add injectors make sure the truck is running normal.Too many stock type issues are overlooked in the quest for bolt on power.460lbft of torque should not feel gutless.

Like Steve said, if the fuel is properly winterized it will not be an issue. Throw a can of Diesel Rescue in the truck and call it good.

Chrysler Sales
Published (2009-11-07 22:57:00)
I truly believe the best and most reliable car and small trucks are, #1 Toyota, #2 Honda, #3 Nissan, #4 Subaru in that order. GM Furd and Chrysler fall somewhere below that. The domestics have however gotten better in the last few years. All domestics of the 70's 80's, 90's and 2000's were miserable.

Install lockup.
Published (2009-11-07 15:36:00)
Yep, a good TC no matter who makes will make a big difference. You won't loose as much thru the fluid coupling as the stocker which around 70% at lower speeds IIRC. A good TC at 88-89% will make a huge diference but you will probably have to change the turbo and/or housing to get it to spool. The gen1 did not like those tight TC's unless you fixed the spool and threw fuel at them in the bottom end. A 90% DTT would be great and that...

Like scootergmc said, I thought the Kore deal was great. But when I compared the price with shipping to buying local (even with sales tax) I think I paid just a few dollars more to get them local from someone I knew.

It is nice to hear a good word for our beloved cummins dodges.
I complain often about my 06 but overall it is a great truck so far.
Never been back to see dealer since it left new.
No flashes.
All is work done in the driveway by me.
And the mpg 16-17 around townnis dead on with what my old 96 got.

Call Georend transmissions and talk to Dave. Tell him what you want to do with the truck and he will build you a custom billet converter with a lifetime warranty for less than most off the shelf units.

get some injectors, for the price of a smarty youcan add 100-150HP and have it through a large portion of the rpm range.
Smarty is overpriced. The edge juice is not bad, hot unlock will just add power on the top end.
Why do you want more power down low anyways... its just harder on your trans and drive line parts.

I just put an Air Dog 100 on my truck this summer. What is an Air Dog 2? I just checked the Pureflow website and didn't see it.
Also, why do you want more filtration?
I'm not being snide, these are real questions.
Thanks

It stands for Darins Steering Stabilizer . I have one and it saved me from having to replace the steering box. I have had it over 3 years now.

I would replace it with an ATS exhaust manifold. I have the 2 piece model. BD and others also make an exhaust manifold. Supposedly, it helps the #6 cylinder and it has an expansion joint built in to it. I would redo the bolt holes to 9/16.

My 36' Raptor by Keystone is a 15K 3 axle and it did fine with my 3/4 ton with upgrades. .. I have a 09 3500 now and I drool over a 40' Wide open by Gulf stream. It has a separate wall that can open up to make more living space.. Seems like a wheelchair dream like you said. ..
The wide open 40' is a hitch weight of 2500# empty so you will be looking at a 36' or less. Usuals is a bed slide ...

I went through the exact same thing last year. 12 valves had cats, 24 valve no cats, 2004.5+ (I think) had cats. Argued with the inspection place, e-mailed Dodge and they said all 2001's needed cats (bunch of morons don't even know what their trucks were equipped with). They sent me a copy of the standard specs. sheet that says it had a cat but the sheet also said equipped with 5.9L V8 360ci. ...

Do the sport conversion! My old lights were fine but the sports make a huge difference.
The PIAA's look nice. Much better bulb than a "Super Blaster 9000" or some other such junk.

There is not any additional stress on the drive train with an engine brake engaged than when that same driver accelerates....
I agree, where I disagree, is the rapid transition from one direction to the other.

Given the amount of time you will be spending with it, I would strongly suggest the Arctic Fox TT. They are 4 star rated out of five, with extra insulation, enclosed underbelly and heated tanks. Outstanding construction, materials and workmanship - a true four season TT.
I recently bought a used '04 Jayco Eagle, which is their top of the line TT. It meets our needs as we only ...

yes it will work, the only disadvantage is the front driveshaft is going to be turning all the time.
