I strongly suggest you keep to the recommended dose in future Otakun. Perhaps you also need to speak with your doctor about the continued use of this drug. If you feel worried about your situation at all, make immediate transport arrangements to get yourself to a doctor or the local ER - do not drive yourself. D

ooh ozy! rotflmao... thank you. you killed my depression. i wanna photoshop her into it.... Sorry y'all for the inside joke, but i had to post that Oz here killed my depression about 45 seconds after the chatroom shut itself down. I had been in there to keep myself distracted, and it appears I have to do something else for a while... just when I find a good thing. Grr. Oh well, I guess that's how life's gonna be, huh. Good...

You can use this website to your advantage. You probably won't want to but trying AA won't hurt. It isn't for everyone but I love it. I hope I never stop. I wish I would have started working hard on my sobriety when I was drinking a six pack per night a few nights per week. Unfortunately, I waited until I was drinking at least a twelve pack every night. I wish you the best.

I don't know... I read the OP and didn't particularly want to go there either, the whole romancing thing... But if I react to it, I know why... I know what ginger is saying and have dealt with it myself.... For me, It was part of the grieving process... I mean, hell, there was something I liked about it, duh..... I don't mind too much going there in my head at times, but my spiritual condition needs to be good... I kind of feel...

Thanks for the new thread Pony!
Poppy, (and everyone else) thank you for the continued encouragement. No I'm not going to treat myself with a sweet or go on a binge, as I've said before it's probably best that I continue to abstain since I've proven throughout my life that I have no clue how to moderate anything .
Right now I seem to have eating problems on the weekends, especially ...

I think it's important for each one of us to find what works best, according to our own lives, beliefs, and issues. That's what I've learned. It's up to ME to find the way I can recover best, and do all the work it takes to be as healthy as I can. I spent a lot of time poo-pooing different theories, methods, programs, until I realized I was focusing a lot more outside of me than I was within....

Yes... you're abusing meds. Abusing meds is never "harmless".
You pointed out you like the "high" you get from it... err, excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the opposite of recovery thinking?
You're also hurting someone by doing this, which I also think makes it wrong...if it was harmless then your husband wouldn't mind.

My AH has been gone for over 2 weeks and is staying at my friends house. Her boyfriend and my husband are friends. her boyfriend has bipolar and a frontal lobe injury so he is not all there. He drinks some but in no means an alcoholic. but in his mind he thinks it's great that he has a buddy to stay with them.
My friend who will probably be my xfriend because she knows all about the ...

Yay! First one in the new Henhouse! How exciting! Shall I decorate? Okay, lots of comfy pillows everywhere. A plush, cushy couch. Plenty of water on ice and coffee on tap. A designated smoking area? Nah. We shouldn't be doing that anyway. I know! Kitty beds and climbing posts! Nice soothing shades of blue on the walls. How about a disco ball? Too much? Okay, scratch that. Soft ...

What causes an alcoholic to relapse is alcoholism. That's what that voice in your head is-it is an obsession. You appear to have the mind of an alcoholic, and if that state of mind is present in you, you will always drink.
Alcoholism is a funny thing. Alcoholics think that drinking is the problem and if they quit drinking, problem solved. Then they find themselves drinking again wondering ...

Kjell - What have you done so far for your recovery? Have you done AA solely or were your in a treatment program? I would suggest doing the 40 meetings in 40 days and doing whatever is necessary to build up your recovery program. You need to just concentrate on recovery in my opinion.
You didn't kill anyone thank God. You can't change yesterday, but you MUST work on today and make sure ...
