Why only the 2nd Gen Neon to HS???
Published (2009-11-25 15:50:33)
I think the 1st-gen Neons will just have to be "stuck" between GS and HS for a while. It's too fast for HS, but will never catch a SRT-4. GS is still the land of the "haves" and the "have nots" in terms of limited-slips and forced induction. I would love to see one of the "old GS" Celica GT's setup and run against them, if only to see how much difference there is. 182 STU

Published (2009-11-26 00:50:19)
It's great to see most of the "core" XP drivers weigh in on this topic. You're all going to submit comments to the SEB, right? It would be nice to hear a few more comments re. the proposed reduction in the penalty for traction control. Fred had some pretty useful suggestions, but most folks seem to be ignoring that part of the proposal. Steve Garnjobst #75 XP (soon...

129STS: fzust: Torque disadvantages can be "fixed" via gearing. Fred, you only have 250 lb-ft, but you also rev at least 1500 rpm higher than we do. That's over 20% more. That means you can gear it lower and still achieve the same thrust as we do with the same top speed in 2nd gear. The fastest Mod cars are still the DM cars. Not the EM cars, even when were lighter at 1500 lbs. ...

So, I was discussing next years plans with my co-driver, and the suggestion of an STX Fox body Mustang came up. Seemed a little off the wall at the time, but looking as some numbers, it seems like it might have a shot. 225hp 300lbs/ft, HP on par with most other STX cars, TQ is the best I've seen Listed curb weights down to 2754lbs (might be for a 4cly, need to confirm 5.0 weight) ...

Charcoal canister is way on the left side of the engine bay. Dashpot Solenoid Control Valve is right next to the MAP sensor, both mounted with a common bracket near the center of the bay on the firewall....is that what your talking about? I don't see anything else just to the left of the Master Cylinder.

First, thank you for submitting comments to the SEB/PAC. You'd be surprised how few members actually exercise their right to help the club make decisions.
As to the reason for this proposal, you need look no further than the weight data from Nationals. As compared to every other Prepared class, XP cars were DRAMATICALLY further over the weight minimums, by any statistical measure you care ...

That's really cool. I wonder whether I could order one (I ran another brand). Bridgestone did send me a great action picture of my car though. Really classy and great support for the sport.
Thank you Bridgestone.

I would guess that there is some type of publishing rule or something another that requires the writers to be paid. And they are paid by Haymarket (publisher of SportsCar) not SCCA. You also get paid some token sum if you are asked to use a photo/submit one. And I agree that none of the workers care about the money or even know about it.
But overall, this has to be the biggest case of ...

I couldn't agree more. I won 1 index all year and that was a local Milwaukee region in the rain. Every other event I lost to Craig or Jason. Here is what I posted in the other index thread:
Well that was extremely disappointing. ST's index went up .006 which was the average and yet they won almost ever local index all year. STU went up .008 and I don't honestly know why. Looking back at...

TedDBere: Perhaps by picking a large, stable class with the top cars and drivers not changing from year to year the paxes would be easier to calculate from year to year. Does this exist? I don't compete at nationals, but watching the local hot-shoes I run with over the last 5+ years seems to indicate that change is the constant. I don't see a lot of people staying with the same car for...

In T1, the old (last gen) Vipers got a 100lb weight break and can use the new Viper's brakes.
No restrictor for either the Ferrari or the LS3.
I guess us C5 guys, the people that make-up about 85% of the class, can use our cars as door-stops, paper weights, or boat anchors. They sure as hell can't be used as T1 race cars.
Oh well- that puts the nail in the coffin for me as far as ...
