Testcards - Page 4 - Satellite...
Published (2009-11-07 19:51:00)
Herws one I remember well. I first saw this one a few months before Channel 4 launched back in November 1982. In those pre satellite days (we had just three tv channels - BBC 1 BBC 2 & Central ITV!) I was idly tuning across the tv band in the faint hope of picking up the Anglia ITV signals from Sandy Heath when I ran across this - transmitting off the Lichfield transmitter.

ASTRA 1kr AND ASTRA 2D on same dish
Published (2009-11-07 14:45:00)
It's a very common and highly successful arrangement in England, not known for rain fade problems. Up where you live might be problematic, though. Loads of recent Threads from folk wanting to do just this. Brackets are easily obtained and fitted. Of course, if you wanted 13E as well, it's best to focus the Dish somewhere around 21.5E, but it really isn't an issue.

If you can find an offset bracket, as said will be ok. A decent 60cm is all you require for these two birds. I remember the TAS60 dishes sky supplied just before launch. Consisted of a small arm for mounting the LNb for 28e.

The Triax multiblock will fit most dishes if turned upside down and use one of the holders to clamp onto the focal one. Sometimes necessary to 'thin' one of the holders though.

Hi friends .. I using a TT s2-3200 HD pci card with DVBviewer Pro...and am trying to scan all transponders on 28.2E without success. If I perform a complete scan of Astra using the ini file a large number of channels are missing when completed..particularly the HD channels. ok ..so I then tried a manual scan of the missing HD channels...but DVB viewer refuses to even acknowledge the transponers exist ...showing no signal.. I know this is not...

Canal+ turns 25
Published (2009-11-07 12:45:00)
Pay-TV channel Canal+ turned 25 on November 4. Over the years, it has won a special place in the French TV market. Though its positioning is still based on sports and movies, as well as on edgy content, it has opened its schedules to various new types of original productions from realistic or political series to web contents. From an economic point of view, the channel also makes a difference from the others. With CEO Bertrand Méheut and his...

Hi there,
I am brand new in terms of satellite, so first of all, apologies if I sound silly. I am in the IT area, started reading about satellites and TV, althought I am still not certain about what kit to get in order to get Hispasat + Astra + Hotbird in the same dish. What I am really interested is to get italian TV (RAI 1,2,...) and possibly GLOBO international (which I know is encripyted...

You probably need a bigger dish for the BBC channels:
_http://www.astra2d.com/spain.htm
_http://www.astra2d.com/iberia2d.htm
suggests over 2m is needed for decent reception of the BBC & other channels!

It all depends on if your receiver has any modified firmware available for it. The modified firmware usually emulates encryptions like Nagra2 or Seca All you do is enter the keys needed in the relevent section in the menu usually
I don't think there is any modified firmware available for your receiver in all honesty, so it looks like you may need to replace it.

Seems a short timescale considering the number of national and local stations transmitting in analogue on 19E. I'm sure that'll upset a few diehard analogue receiver owners in Germany.

Hello,
new white card stopped receiving the entertainment pack in a DB800 with newcs and cccam in a omnikey-cardreader, eventhough entitlements goes to 15/12/2009. I've putt the card back in the skydigibox but the paid channels (family pack) are not clearing there also.
What to do? Any suggestions?
I'm outside of the UK.
regards,
Luc

A monobloc can be used with a DiSEqC switch - BUT the switch needs to be of the rare (and expensive -around 60 Euro) "option" type (such as the Spaun SUR211) rather than the common "position" type. See here

You can use IEPG 1 instead of Hip Hop. Just change it from a data channel to a tv channel with Dreamboxedit. Its FTA background music on the same transponder as Hip Hop. Carries the data stream.

Hi there!
the lamias dish,is a single non segment dish, but the material is very thin and flimsy like on the tordial dish also!
this explains the problem i would say!
how do you would calculate the contact surface, when the wind blows with 90 km/h to 1,80 m dish, how strong will be the force in (kg) of gravity then?
