You are right and they are wrong! Looking towards the Dish, the connector is at four o'clock. So you'll need to turn it another few degrees (dunno exactly without checking, but I'm sure you have access either to suitable calcultors or can just do it empirically. Here is the commonly referred to Thread about this LNB

Stair rods are (often) brass rods used to restrain the carpet to the back of the step on a staircase to stop people slipping down stairs. Replace by gripper rods. In the context of weather stair rods is a Lancashire expression used to describe very heavy rain that appears as straight rods as shown in the photograph. Well we get the most of it around here so we will for sure call it something unusual

Don't forget you can set another transponder frequency into the box and recheck for signal. I think it is within the 'add channel' section of the menu.

dish angle question???
Published (2009-11-24 17:22:00)
Hi, If the motor is marked LATITUDE then set it to your latitude. As for your dish setting, you will be adjusting that anyway during installtion, but set it to 27.5 to start with if you want, if that is what the manual says.

Sky UK Bouquets
Published (2009-11-24 08:22:00)
Interesting. I made these on Nabilo. I'm sure both my boxes reference sly UK at 28.2e and both are on BH 0.12. I'll check. Just to add to the mix, one thing that has been buggin me for a while is this.... I want my first channel in my first bouquet (BBC 1) to be channel number 101 and so on.... I can't seem to do this, I've edited the channel numbers in DBEdit but the Dreambox ignores them. It simply starts the first...

OSCAM releases are coming at the rate of 5-10 per day still, so many bugs are still being found. This is being developed in full view of the web, so people should be able to see the amount of effort that goes into making such a software and the level of cooperation required. There is now a list of cards supported, including IT, UK and DE on x86 (not all on MIPSEL, ppc yet). Some limitations still on reader support. This will explain...

Intelsat-14 gets away
Published (2009-11-23 23:21:00)
The long-delayed launch of Intelsat-14 was successfully made from Florida on Nov 23. A Lockheed Martin Atlas V rocket was responsible for the launch. The satellite, built by Space Systems/Loral, will go to 315 deg East (45 deg W) in an Atlantic Ocean position where it will replace Intelsat 1-R. "IS-14 kicks off our 11-satellite investment campaign, the largest in our company's history. This satellite provides capacity for our...

and what dish sizes you are using.
You could use a meter, but they are not cheap. For your purposes the receivers will do the job well enough.

Hi Gandalf ...
Put simply ..
No.
Its simply not an economic repair ..
The cost of a replacement lcd panel plus labour charges would come to more than the cost of a comparable TV ..
If you are insured for accidental damage ..you will most likely be offered a replacement TV .

Keep your saga going as long as you want!
Glad you've got the PACE now - and you are right to assume it will eventually Update Automatically, but that may take a fair few weeks, so it needs to be kept in Standby at least.
You could, from time to time, try a Forced Download, but the 3.7.6 for your Box may not be transmitted that often.
I cannot recall what the precise changes are, but...

That's because of the offset of the LNB arm, which will be about 25 degrees.
And it is possible with some dishes to assemble the back bracket upside down (for other latitudes). Check you are happy.
For Astra, the Dish face should be a no more than a couple of degrees off vertical, so you seem to be in the ballpark.
If the LNB is a Fortec Star FSUKVN, then the Skew is weirdly ...

Hi,
Can you clarify the reason you will not put the card in the internal card reader? Is it due to voltage?
Do I need to go and order a smargo smart reader? ;-)
Thanks,

Hi,
The dish is fixed, it is a ScrewFix Satellite Kit Deal which was on there website for £39.99.
I'm not expecting great results, just the ability to have some extra channels. http://www. screwfix .com/prods/80878/...-Kit&source=aw
Sorry for being vague, I hope the website can give you some more details. I can't find many on there but if it helps I can have a look through ...

Thanks for your help! I will do as you suggest and check out my receiver at a friend's home. The technician was able to see all the channels on the equipment he uses to install everything, which would, I guess, suggest a problem with the box. If it does turn out to be the box, is there a make which works particularly well with weak signals?
Many thanks again.

Not sure what you mean by the LED flashing on the pulse line. You'll only get a train of pulses when the motor is in operation and moving the dish.
Is this a replacement for a previously operational receiver and dish setup?

Unfortunately it seems the thread has been removed. It outlined the reasons for not releasing the current cam that is working for sly italy. Top of the list was that the use has become too general and not as a hobby but to avoid paying subs. Next is the fact that that it only resolved the first phase of the new encryption; there are 2 more phases that can be enabled, complicating decryption ...
