Any F/H trans will fit a F/H motor, but there are exceptions. You can assume that they are interchangeable if built in the early/mid 90's

Have a Helms manual yet? There is a flowchart that you can follow to troubleshoot your bad idle, because as you stated, idle problems can be caused by a bunch of things. Did the problem start recently, like after you did any work to the car?

-Fyi, having an H22 in the car really isn't a selling point, since ALL 5th gen Preludes have H22's.

have you checked your engine bay to see if there are any signs of a heavy oil leak?
I'm sure you know not to drive your car right now. i hope your engine is ok :[
