Do you think it should be ok for the overall collective consciousness of society to embrace non-monogamous relationships / marriages for men? Let's face it - Us men have a territorial instinct when it comes to our women. Like it or not, men everywhere feel it should be, on some level, ok for them to have multiple women, for the women to remain monogamous. We realize it's a bit unfair...

When you see homeless people on the street, do you give them money? Do you donate money to the church to help the poor? Charity organizations?

I just want to clear up any possible confusion when it comes to picking an image format for internet use. JPEG is not always better. For complex signatures, like mine, either one works, with JPEG having a smaller size and high quality. For signatures like this: PNG is a much better choice. If you are trying to get a high quality JPEG, the image size will actually be larger than a ...

Does anyone know of a few good books on heterodox economics? I'm interested in learning more about the subject(s). I'd prefer one that combines some of the history of the discipline with at least the basic premises of the theories.

I heard something about this in Sarah Palin's speech, and it made me wonder. What exactly would constitute a victory in Iraq? We are supporting the current government, and the terrorist groups we are fighting against exist in several other countries, How exactly can we measure when we "win"?

McCain and Obama have almost identical phrasing on their position on Iraq; usually something like "we must leave with honor and victory, not defeat" (that is McCain, but Obama is virtually identical). Neither candidate, unfortunately, has really outlined what "honor and victory" entails, or what their exact plans are for achieving "honor and victory" within a year. Frankly, I ...

John McCain has chosen the female governor of Alaska as his running mate in a surprise move by the Republican nominee. Sarah Palin, 44, is a dynamic mother of five who became the youngest governor in Alaskan history two years ago when she took office after campaigning to clean up government. At a raucous rally today in the swing state of Ohio, Mr McCain said he made his ...

Every human being has different ends in life. Every human being has different notions about how best to achieve these ends. Often, two different human beings will require the same resource to achieve their separate ends. Inevitably, conflict will arise. There is no way to get around this, no way to deny this, unless you really are talking about a totalitarian state. You have to ...

If you or your wife was pregnant with a child who had down syndrome, would you terminate the pregnancy? A 2002 study found that 91%-93% of pregnancies in the United States with a diagnosis of down syndrome were terminated despite the fact that just 55% of Americans believe abortion should be legal. Personally, I would terminate the pregnancy.

Putin: U.S. opened Pandoras Box ATLANTA -- Russian PM Vladimir Putin says that in recent years Washington has been propagating the rule of force, not international law. "When we tried to stop the Kosovo solution no one listened to us," Putin said. We kept saying: dont do that, hold on, youll put us in a terrible position in the Caucasus. What are we to say to the ...
