Early on shootin' 1911 45s I would hold the pistol in My right hand, rack the slide with My hand over the ejection port, later as matches grew more organized, R O s didn't like that style of unload and show clear at all......It was a DUMBA$$ habit that took a long time to break for good. No doubt God was watchin' out for Me, Probably tellin' some of His angels, "He's gonna kill Himself Drinkin' ,...

Hmm..... Bill: I have several friends with either factory 10mm 1911's or builds/converts. I have never personally seen, or heard of the extended ejector setting off rounds, not to say it has not happened though. I have always favored the S&W 3rd gens for the 10mm, just personal preference. The .224 zipper sounds interesting, although a google search could not turn up anything on it readily, have any additional info on it? Possibly...

Interesting read. I would like to say this that I am somewhat curious about myself. I recently replaced a Wilson plug on my WIlson "Bill Wison Carry" with with a Kimber plug. This particular design has a reverse plug. The Wison pistol tore the living crap out of the Kimber plug in a short time. It ate the shoulders all up on the reverse plug from Kimber. Leading me to believe they are different somehow in dimentions. I know...

Build Master Grade Pistols with the caspian frames/slides in 40 Super. Build a matching 9x23 and a .45 with the Springfields, duty carry. Hardchrome them, and sell as a set.

There are several "dry lubes". One of the better ones is called "Dryslide". This is a moly lube in a liquid carrier. Once applied, the solvent carrier evaporates leaving a thin coating of black moly on the parts. You have to really shake the can to mix the solvent with the moly, and keep it shook during use. However, most people try a dry lube and go back to a liquid. Dry lubes just don't seem to work...

The problem with a more powerful handgun is that you are stressing the frame in a way it was not designed to be stressed, only firing a great number of rounds, thousands, maybe even tens of thousands would be required to properly see if there was an issue or not. Bill

I don't know what Kahr recommends,. but in my early stainless K9 owner's manual it calls for replacement at 2000 rounds. Some of the MK and PM guns need new springs around 1500 rounds or even less in some cases. Bottom line. When in doubt, replace the spring. Springs are a LOT cheaper than slides and frames.

if the slidestop does not swing freely when you do the check for short link, you must have a longer one. but, installing a longer one might cause other problems, which may ruin your slide and your barrel if you do not know how to check for and correct these. the correction for a long link can involve setting back the "vertical impact surface", and reshaping the rear barrelface, not an easy ...

You're loading your Kahr the WRONG WAY. Kahr specifically recommends loading the Kahr by locking the slide back, inserting a loaded magazine, and pressing the slide stop. The test for whether to polish the feed ramp is: How does the gun SHOOT. If your Kahr is reliable after the 200 round break in period, there's no need to polish anything, and doing so risks making problems where...

Guys, I did some research after posting this originally and found the Brownells plunger tube refit kit, as well as some successful reports using Loctite, although that is certainly a less elegant (but a lot more affordable) workaround.

I've seen two different articles about CZ 527's that were re-barreled for 6.8spc. - In both cases, it was the 527 'American' model that was converted. In both cases, the rifle was accurate and they harvested a few deer and pigs with it, satisfied with the performance. Here I have a 527 Varmint Kevlar that I am thinking about converting. http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/arwatch/S hoot/...
