Fuse would cause it to cease functioning with either door or the manual control. +1 on the door jamb switch. It is simply a pushbutton that is covered in rubber and is located in the latch loop on the rear of the door opening of the car.

I keep the dome light at the 12-sec setting and last night it stopped turning on when I open the driver's side door, but works fine for the passenger side door. Any ideas?

MTX is compatible throughout all years '99 - '02. Correct? Is there any particular milage these trannys go out? Is there anything to look for on them that is either a pro or con on them? I have a chance to pick up a '99 V6 MTX for $500. It has a blown motor.
