Yeah i know wht you mean. Its kinda embarrasing turning off the car and hearing the rattle. Lots of people ask me what it is, i just tell them its vanos noise related to RPM. My bank1 vanos is very noisy too, i think i will be replcing most of it over winter too! This car always leaves me lots of projects to work on!!

Yeah. We own two out of the top 10 (M5 + Dodge Ram). I think it's funny as hell, personally. We are *****ing about these cars while we doe things far more environmentally damaging to our planet. __________________ The M5 is my dad's - but I drive it more than he does!

Sounds like your syncro hubs have gone on second gear, these slow and match gear speeds. Did you get any bulking before your spirited drive? Change the gearbox oil, do it in a clean white or clear tub and look for metal filings or the fluid looking like metalic silver paint, if so thats your answer and a box swop or rebuild will be on the cards. Since you're not keeping the car stock (turbo conversion...), for me there would be no good reason to stay with the original color. So if you like avus blue, go for it. I did the same on my carbon black E39, and I don't regret it. I just love the color!

Hmm that kinda sucks! I gu ess it's a total blow when you saw the numbers. Atleast now you can anticipate the extra 50-60whp your down will make anice difference in the butt dyno! It seems odd how there are some people with the ess putting down 500whp with the stock pulley and minimal mods but there are some with all the goodies strugling to make 476whp with stock pulley. I guess no differant ...

You already have a bunch of mods I would put it into preventative maintenance... Maybe get all the fluids changed, check to see if it needs new valve cover gaskets etc.
How many miles on the car, that might help determine where to spend the money too?
