COLT's final DKR game

I will never forget VY's last game in Austin, and thinking "who is going to be his backup next year". I looked in the program, and saw "McCoy" as a possibility. I swept the sideline with the binoculars, and saw, not one, but three McCoys (I think we had Mark McCoy and Matt McCoy at the time). When I focused on "C. McCoy", I thought "No WAY! That skinny red-headed country bumpkin is gonna be Vince...

That was a fantastic show. Kari Wuhrer was a hostess, right? Or am I thinking about another show? Dennis Leary did some parts on that or something too, I think. (I looked it up and yup, Leary was on it. So were some others per Wiki) Wiki: Cast Remote Control was hosted by Ken Ober and featured Colin Quinn as the gravel-voiced announcer/sidekick. John Ten Eyck played several walk-on parts, joined in later seasons by Adam Sandler, Denis Leary,...

In reply to: The legal question at hand involves the use by Congress of a Constitutionally prohibited Bill of Attainder, a law which punishes a particular individual or group - in this case, denying federal funds - without benefit of a trial. Denying Federal funds is not punishment, it's simply the ceasing of a non-mandatory reward. Every single bill Congress passes "denies Federal funds" to everyone that it doesn't award...

Would Texas have had a shot at the NC game if they had lost a second game? No, so they needed to win every other game to have a chance at going to the NC game. The same can be said for Florida, Alabama, and Oklahoma last year. Every game matters until you get to two losses. Even then we had a two loss team as the NC, which I could not believe but hey it happened. I am all for a 4 team playoff, if it gets much bigger and the field is watered...

I don't know the official Texas sections but there seems to be a bunch of us sitting in the upper deck of the end zone due to the shortage of Texas allotment seats and the lack of aggy attendance.

There was never a traditional " championship game" in the old days. It was all about conference ties to the bowl games. Of course every now and then, you'd get some bowl game (usually the Rose or Orange Bowls) where the teams they invited just happened to be ranked #1 and #2, but that was purely a coincidence. That's also why you see a lot of what are called "split championships" (farcical in...

well said, babhorn. i completely agree...i was definitely disappointed with the shooting. there were times when i felt the horns could make a run and cut into the lead, but the shots just weren't falling....and we weren't hitting the offensive boards. UConn, on the other hand, had way too many second chances. but that just speaks to their aggression...specifically Maya Moore. she's ...

In reply to: What TCU REALLY needs is for BOTH Florida & Bama to stumble before the play the SEC champ game. They need that SEC loser to have 2 losses to have a more realistic shot. But that's just not realistic, is it?? It would be nice if this was about 10 years ago as far as it pertains to the Iron Bowl and Florida-FSU rivalries. Back then, wins by Auburn and FSU were highly likely...

I wonder why Williams is the guy to run the Wildcat in leu of Brown and not Pat White?
Why is the 'Wildact' always run with a RB taking the snap, and not a highly mobile QB?

i don't think so, as Colt was in Austin. I seem to remember reading Mack Brown calling Colt from Califorina telling him to start getting ready as he was the man.
