Check out our forum. Automotive AC Information Forum - ACKITS.COM . There are a lot of things you didn't do correct and a lot of people fail to do. Number one when you replace a compressor, at minimum you replace the drier and the whole system must be flushed out. Since the clutch was bad we can assume that no debris was in the system. In that case you would replace the compressor, drier and expansion valve because prolonged exposure to...

A little more detail. Hold the oil pump sprocket with the timing mark at 12 o'clock and release it. If it falls counter-clockwise, it is in phase. The timing mark should be close to the mark on the front case, but not exact, so just line the two up and wrap the belt around. The sprocket will naturally sit in this position so you don't have to worry about it moving on you. Just make sure to keep it lined up when wrapping the belt. If...

So now we're at 50/50 on this thread with guys who have been ok with venting and those that have had problems. . . . . . For everyone else, it's your call. Will it work? You can go find out. If you stall, then you know what your problem is. . .

At a crossroad (white smoke)
Published (2009-11-18 20:45:00)
I've heard some people say that when a turbo goes bad, the smoke put out has a slightly different shade than just pure oil burning. Less blue, more "gray". I cant confirm nor deny this as I've never experienced it, but if I had to guess I would say that this is because if a turbo goes bad, it could be burning a mixture of both oil and coolant into the exhaust, causing a slightly different color smoke. I would swap your...

Im sure it would be easier if you had one right in front of you to look at.
I took one semester in Pro E but never got real good at it. I always felt
like the software was outdated and prefered to use inventer. Good luck
though. Post up picks of the progress

It basically requires a timing belt job, as the trigger plate is behind the crankshaft sprocket. I'm not sure on the going rate for this, but that seems about average (maybe a bit higher) as compared to what people have posted.
You'd probably be better of finding a local who's comfortable with doing a timing belt job and paying them.

A sweet strutbar hoodprop, no battery, ebay? bov( at least is recirc'd), injen intake(or something similar), hardpipes to SMIC looks like, no A/C lines, there's a fire ring sitting on the manifold, that goes inside the turbo/manifold gasket area, most people dont run those.
You NEED a drivers side engine mount, and get that car off the bottom of the shocks if your having that big of an issue ...

The other pulley at the bottom of the timing belt is your other balance shaft, the oil pump gear needs to be timed as well.

I have a manual steering rack that should be here in a couple days or so that will give me something to occupy my time for a bit. Also have 2 street/strip racing tires that should be in today so be mounting those up and hopefully be able to run one more time before the season closes. Then it's a waiting game to see when ECMtuning releases the dsmlink LITE package for 1g's. After that i'll keep my...
