Well spotted , Ron ! Nice to see the originals finally re-surfacing and not another "The absolutely and positively the Very Best Of ... honestly ... vol 23" ! It's the remastering that sets these releases apart from ALL the rest out there. As I said when the last batch came out, it's nice to see (and hear) that somebody finally gives a sh*t. Bankrupt I$ out there on CD but an ...

It's just something about you and that great, versatile voice, DL..... Not only do we want to hear you sing every single 'Hook' and DL Solo song, BUT we also want to hear you sing
our favourite songs by other artists. Impossible, I know - but flattering, too! That's why I loved seeing you on the Rhythm Kings tour so much - an unexpected chance to hear your interpretation of some ...

No doubt ole George is one of a kind.... I have
the live album but I guess I hadn't payed that much attention to the edit until I heard it on cd, It just hit me like a ton of bricks I said that just didn't sound right, I would have loved to have heard the whole track... the live version is still great that's one of my favorites. Thanks for your response.

I have to agree with Val about the venue and the sound. Really nice place. The audience were very appreciative of old and new songs. Dennis was so full of energy last night and 'the raconteur' delighted everyone with the stories he told between songs. It really was a
night to remember, which is good as I won`t be going to another show until the last one in December either! Seems such a long way...

September 10th - Crosby Civic Hall Well, what a nice start to the tour. Great, warm Merseyside audience (Is there any other kind?). I have to admit I had a bit of a rocky first half. A couple of minor guitar things (the new one) distracted me and caused me to swallow a few words, a couple of times. The guitar is wonderful tho. Avalon did a top job of building it for me. ...

I remember back in about 1968 working with older guys in their fifties plus. They said the same thing about the new Radio 1. One song we picked, the Move singing Fire Brigade, was marked up on the wall each time it was played during the day. It notched up 6 plays. Pop music used to drive these poor guys nuts, they were used to the softer sounds of Vera Lynn and
Guy Mitchell etc.........Lawrence
