the VM is a good engine. also happens to pull harder than a 13yr old boy. Or me, and that's a big feat. I did get the auto though..apart from death wobble no problems at all (makes it more like a roller coaster along with the shithouse ride quality). Great vehicle once you get past its idiosyncrasies.

Hi there Wanderer, of course thats fine. I really like the Commanders, so much so that I nearly bought one around 4 months ago trading in the KJ as our family is growing, however the wife refused to drive "A large box" ha! We had one for the weekend and I loved it, she couldnd see over the bonnet too well mind you! I really like that AEV style winch mount setup. Its quite appealing. Who did that Computer rendering?

If I make something today and put it on the shelf for sale today the retail (ticketed) price reflects the cost of goods at the time of manufacture with the standard margin for that style of product. Some products have a higher margin this reflects the difficulty to manufacture. The exact same product made one year ago has a cheaper or dearer price refelctive of the associated costs at the time of manufacture. The retail on that is $4500. The...

can't help you much yom. i went over a heap of corrugations in mine with standard suspension and i reckon the stock ride is the best i have ever had in any fourbie, ( and i'vr had a few). the stock springs are pretty soft and the stock shocks useless as they all are.. i reckon probably the problem is related to stiff springs with no load on them. makes for a harsh ride. just a guess.

hi luke, welcome to this crazy forum. apparently you'll need to be careful of vibrations from the rear drive shaft over 2inches, (so alot of 4wd shops told me). i have a 3inch lift and am lucky not to have vibes. had it lifted for about 6 months with police passing me without a problem, but jungle is right about the insurance. good thing is with a 3inch lift on an xj, it still looks normal....

ZJ & TJ fit.
Otherwise Magna or Falcon - but the excessive backspacing can be an issue on the XJ.
