Can't see any problem with DI engines either? Its a mineral oil so will it be OK if any gets in the sump? I have a Nuffield 342, BMC 3 cylinder DI, Simms inline pump. NO glowplugs though so can take some cranking to start when very cold. Rarely...

Thanks for the link Julian. I assume it is a nerve racking experience tightening up the compression fitting? Might do the same myself if I can think of a place to put it where it won't get snapped off. Edit: I see he does 2mm wall and 3mm wall 15mm tubing, probably worth having the 3mm for strength [Edited on 8-11-2009 by tttonyyy]

I'm Option 3
Saturday/Sunday night was frosty here in Central Scotland, but it did not affect my Vectra at all. I was using B100 made fully of vegetable oil, no
lard or palm oil, so my car survived 2 cold nights with no problems. I'm in Aberdeen this week, so added 10l of petrol diesel to the tank.
Looking forward to get some Coldflow as well.

You might be able to use just a concrete sealant - that may allow easier cleaning up without the oil getting soaked into the concrete.

when I do mine, I stick them on a 90'C wash, loads of washing powder, and once it's filled up and starting to go I tip a few buckets of HOT water in
through the washing powder draw thing.... always works great
the extra water really does help a lot... gets them clean a lot quicker (used to need a 2nd wash sometimes) and leaves the washing machine in much
better condition :-)

Just watched it myself Steve.
At least there was an element of fact there.
Shame they didn't show the guy with a dodgy open lidded processor and battery drill too.

Dear Mr Micky Mouse
Not being negative, but surely a well placed Email/Letter to Mercedes UK would be a better way to vent your frustrations, and get a policy answer.
Just a thought

Easiest way would be to heat everything up again without mixing, then add your glycerin back to the tank and start mixing for ano hour or so. It will
break emulsion and you will get what you should get - mix of pre-washed BD and glycerin, no emulsion.
Thenk do a 27/3 test. Even if there's 1.5ml dropout, I would still use this fuel, just add a some petrol diesel in it.

I gave up the settling years ago for the same reason - there was always dropout whether I demethed or not. Moreover, I needed a much quicker method of
getting clean biodiesel so even if I had good results I would have chucked it.
The first thing I would suspect from what you say tho is your biodiesel is under reacted, so that glycerides are keeping the soap in solution, and the

smaller homes or circuits were often done in 15mm in the old days, especially in council houses etc to save cost, but it can be a pain , espeacially
when you run a new rad off to a conservatory or similar. It usually still works, but takes longer to warm up, but is also more prone to blocking later
on. Are you sure its all 15mm tho, as usually you just put the main ring server in 22, then ...
