One thing I thought was well odd when I went to China was quite how many people i saw wearing england shirts. I never even managed to find the bloody things in Chinese shops, so god knows where they got them either, but it really was tons of people, whereas you'd never get them wearing the Chinese shirt...

Yes, when they play. The ardour of my support generally increases the further into a tournament they get.

I have to say I'm on Justin's side with the mole thing. She can't just say stuff like that and not expect someone to be a bit offended. And once you've noticed they're offended, it's best to shut the fuck up. But she just kept on and on. (Which is, of course, hilarious TV). Afterwards, he wasn't saying anything he hadn't said to her face, so it was doubly hilarious that she then went off on one for him...

From FIFA code of conduct. # Play Fair Winning is without value if victory has been achieved unfairly or dishonestly. Cheating is easy, but brings no pleasure. Playing fair requires courage and character. It is also more satisfying. Fair Play always has its reward, even when the game is lost. Playing fair earns you respect, while cheats are detested. Remember: It's only a game. And games are pointless unless played fairly....

Just an update to say I'm still *really* loving my Pre - it makes my Android G1 feel very outdated in terms of performance and interface, and althoughugh we're still waiting on a major system update before the full App Store becomes available, I haven't found myself missing much. Seems to be doing OK in the States too, where it's now the sixth best selling smartphone. http://www.precentral.net/pre-moving...tphone-q3-2009

Lambeth Life
Interesting article in Lambeth Life on pg 14 about the new licensing laws. Rubbing their hands with glee it proclaims all the new powers the council & police have over licensed premises. By adding loads of license conditions it all adds to rip off Britian for the poor punter. Like complaints to Ofcom, one resident now has the power to make or break a licensed venue.

Has anyone noticed the two areas on the path which are constantly wet? As it is part of rush common ( a marshy piece of land) and whilst researching the Effra info, I found out that there was a small tributry running down Leander Road (interestingly someone has a willow tree in their back garden there) which fed into the Effra. So are these wet areas natural springs? And when can we start the ...

With the Goons surely continuing their trophy-less slide from champions to finalists to semi-finalist to quarter-finalists, a top 3 will likely emerge next season with the detached Goons joining Everton, Villa, Citeh and North London’s finest in the chasing pack.
The good news, of course, is that like in the season we last finished 5th we don’t have European football to juggle. Of the likely ...
