So what would happen if a person stopped earning an income and paying taxes and had no debts or bank accounts? Would this be something that they would still be required to pay? I already got out of the shithole. Now I just have to finish university when I go back and then I'm moving out permanently. It wasn't the bad economic times that did it. I grew up used to not having money. It was the moment when "Real American" once again meant "White, Anglo-Saxon Protestant" that made me cease thinking of myself as an American.

the BBC is paid for by every British citizen with a TV (who pays their license), so blocking it to "foreign" viewing, to an extent, makes sense, they haven't paid for it, we have. Are British citizens who don't have a TV and therefore don't pay the license blocked as well? Just asking.

you would think that these site would have wised up by now and realized they would make more money by allowing it to be viewed by a global audience (making it ad-sponsored or something similar).
I'm sure they would like to, but as was pointed out here and also by me it's more to do with the local broadcasters than the producers of content.
