Hi Bev (I've never known you as anything but Willow)! Wow, your key is beautiful! It's so symbolic of our quits, something to gently hold onto but allow it to have the freedom to soar! I'm so proud of you for being able to stay quit through the rough times and I'm so glad the road ahead looks much easier for us. I'm hoping the rest of our group show up for their big day but I guess we'll have to wait and...

Diego, It does not get easier to start again for awhile then quit. I did quit for 9 months last year and then 8 months this year. It's easy for me to quit. It is hard to stay quit. Alcohol seems to be a huge trigger for many (maybe for me too). I've been pledging in that NOPE thread and it seems to help. I would have had 2 days yesterday but at 9:00PM I had stress and went out and bought ...

Wow, Mike!!! Congratulations!!! It is so great to see people coming in to post who have 5 or more years of quit. When I quit, there may have been a few people with one or two years quit, but (except for Christine) I don't remember anyone with 5 or more years. Now it is getting to be common. I can still remember thinking that one year seemed so far away, and 5 seemed almost in the twilight ...

Simply put: If you tried all those products you mentioned, feeling that they would MAKE you quit smoking, you were barking up the wrong tree. Those products were only designated and developed to HELP you stop smoking......there was no secret to any of them. It was up to you to NOT SMOKE during whatever process it was.....any other expectation could be called a "smokescreen." If you ...

My brain sometimes plays tricks like that on me too, so now I outsmart my brain and never go near stores with enough money to buy smokes, when I am feeling vulnerable. Keep going!
