1) The rewriterule is an attempt to circumvent poor clients (mostly bots) unable to deal properly with a base href tag, though, it seems to cause trouble with virtual root. If you do not experience further issues related to that rewriterule, it's no big deal to stay without. For GYM, you could move the files to domain's root following the explanations in install file on how to do it, but if everything works like this, it's no...

As is, this .htaccess is meant to be used in domain's root, not in forum/. Make sure you place it where the red messages tells you to in the generator and NOT anywhere else.

That's often required when uploading files, since ftp does not chmod files by default. About GYM, i suggest you start reading more threads in GYM sitemaps forum , the default settings are ok for most, you generally just need to activate caching and url rewriting for GYM (requires an .htaccess update). I got ride of the strange bbcode by adding "b" in the "Extended Config" area of the ACP. There you can select which bbcodes to ignore and then it doesn't display them in a strange manner.

My hosting company has done some updates on Linux. After that I get 500 error for the whole phpBB instance. After bit of debugging I have found that 500 error comes from common.php on line Code: Select all require($phpbb_root_path ....

Thanks for the answers. I did a compare of the phpbb_seo_class file and altough the version and timestamp were good, there was 1 part missing. The canonical part. Seems the auto updater missed that for me. Thanks for the advice, i'll uncomment it now in functions.php The GYM redirects all seem to work fine when adding the /phpBB3/ to the location of the php files in the rule. I forgot to ...

The error is fixed now, you can search all forums again What did you do to have it work ? And yes, as said above, the zero duplicate would be a good thing to fight against duplicates, especially since you migrated from natural urls.

You should update it, using the phpBB.com style code change packages, and then apply our mod's code change in it. ++

You could turn on the search ignore filter and add "http" and "jpg" to the list (in you language's search_ignore_words.php). Though, jpg is not such a bad keyword for a topic with an image in it. ++
