Oh no, not another "serotonin-imbalance-balancing" drug! The real cause of "HSDD", IMO - once married, the man no longer has to court the woman, romance dies, then so does the woman's libido.

Oh yeah big time. I don't even remember the two years on Effexor. It has come back some but very very slowly.

Norma, get your stool checked for C difficile. Clindamycin is notorious for "overkilling" the good bacteria resulting in nasty diarrhea.

Antibiotics are notorious for causing stomach distress. Start taking some kind of probiotic, such as Acidophilus to help.

I feel so sorry for this man that he must live with knowing what he has done for the rest of his life. I am not surprised that the AD issue has been ignored, instead they have focused more on his sleep disorder.

I think clindamycin has the potential to cause some serious gut problems. If you continue to have diarrhea, be sure to see your doctor. Florastor probiotics have been great for my gut. I've also used Culturelle, which might be easier to find (at CVS).

Hi
I have the same problem as you get to about 10 weeks off and then hit the wall and go back on Lexapro. I am reading a lot of Claire Weeks and hoping to start therapy soon. I really hope I can get through this without having to restart Lexapro, I am certainly trying.

I'm sick of the ads too. They're EVERYWHERE!!
Strange how they have millions and millions to spend on ads, but so little on researching long-term safety or withdrawal studies.

If you do a search you will see that more than a few of us here have had bad experiences with deep tissue type massages while tapering or in WD.
I think it does have something to do with releasing toxins, but the whole point of a slow wean is not to necessarily flush the meds or toxins out of your system fast, but to do it slowly so your brain can make the necessary adjustments to the ...

All of the pains that you are describing are very common while on Paxil, while tapering, and in withdrawal. I believe that is what leads so many people to believe that they have Fibromyalgia when it is really just a side effect from the SSRI. I took Advil when my pain got to be unbearable and after a little over two years off, my pain is nearly gone.

Shane, I'm really sorry for your loss. You are right, she is in a better place now and not suffering, but I'm sure you will miss her a lot. I totally understand the feeling of being sad and relieved at the same time; I went through this with my sister who died of breast cancer almost a year ago. ((HUGS))

Keep a large calendar in a convenient place. Jot down when things are due. Just have to get use to checking the calendar every day. Or, you can use the calendar on your computer.

Hi, Christiana. My guess is that you had an adverse reaction to the Lexapro. That happened to me, and I had all the symptoms you describe. I wish I could give you some advice about how to ride it out. I didn't; I went back to the doctor and let her put me on multiple drugs, which in the end made things worse. Had I found this website sooner, I would have recognized the AR for what it was and ...

What symptoms are you still seeing? Personally, I believe that we all go through some sort of PTSD from getting off of these meds, and those effects can last quite some time if not worked on.

Oh Sparrow - I am so sorry. You are NOT a failure you are just in recovery mode from the meds. Will you qualify for unemployment? That might give you some time to start to feel better.

Hey, Scotty/Laura! I wanted it to be on the General Board. Could you, please, move it there? It's positive update and it'd be great if more people read it!

I'm sorry you're going through this, Dan. My mother has nueropathy and takes Neuronton and has nerve block shots every six months in her spine.
Don't just assume that type of pain is just w/d. Neuropathy is a condition that will have to be diagnosed and dealt with.

Hey... I'm not a fan of switching meds or what dr recommends... I'd stick
with the paxil.. wean off, and then if you really have to.. try something
else . I got switched to prozac-fail and effexor -fail, put me in the worst
cold turkey paxil w/d ever. That's not just me either, there's people
coming here on a weekly basis in the middle of cross tapers in a bad state.
You seem to be well versed in...

I agree that these terms are often used interchangably.
According to Wikipedia, the difference is that "derealization is a subjective experience of unreality of the outside world, while depersonalization is unreality in one's sense of self."
