The X61, T61 and R61 would not be updated to support the SATA3 speed according to Lenovo.

No it's not required. Remove the battery and start the machine without it. If you still get the error (regardless of battery not being inserted) you have a sickly motherboard. Good luck.

I'm sure there is an easy way, I've been without an S series for 3 months, so off the top of my head no. BUT, I'd imagine it all has to do with windows logon somewhat, so if you want to cancel the logon password prompt, its probably a windows thing. Obviously the problem is an error in the BIOS' ACPI table that misleads the kernel to think the maximum speed was 1.33 GHz. Indeed. I'm not sure if this is Lenevo's or more likely UPS's fault. I added 2 day shipping to my laptop. it left China on 6 Nov. that was day one. today is 9 Nov, day two. I just called UPS to try and get a better estimate of delivery time, and was told I can expect it by noon, 13 Nov. that will be seven days since it was shipped. NQS

Confirmed this happens to all our Thinkpad W500s Model # 40624GU. (About a dozen of them) With all the security and theft protection off in the BIOS, laptop still uses about 4% battery when off and unplugged.

I've been w/o a BSoD for over a month. I used to get them almost daily. These are my current settings/specs: (T400 with ATI HD3400) v8.503.2.2000 8/18/2008 atidvag.dll v6.14.10.6822 PowerPlay OFF in BIOS: only Discrete is enabled

Hi, latest Version i used is this one Veriface 3.5 taken from IdeaPad Y550,IdeaPad Y450,IdeaPad Y650... vista .. but works ...for use under windows seven download extract .. install as admin and vista compatible... sincerely KalvinKlein

On 10/18/2009, I was ordering the U550 but I hesitated to continue because the est. Shipping Date 12/02/2009 just blew away. I did some researches online and some people said they had gotten it 2 week after the order date which is pretty reasonable and realistic. Thanks! I have a ticket open with Lenovo, they want to replace the fan (I know that's not going to fix it) but the fan is on back order so I'm in a holding pattern for the moment.
