Thank you so much for posting this tutorial. I just finished doing the job. Took about 5 hours including cleaning up my work bench before I started and clean up after I finished. I spent around $250 for parts. I needed a couple coils and changed all three rear coils since they were the originals with 175k miles. The Ford dealer wanted $950 to do this job, or $450 to buy two coils and the gaskets from them to do it myself.

Just a tip, take a picture of the rear brake setup before you start tearing it apart. I have the repair manual, chilton or haynes I forget, but it wasn't that much help with the details.

Groan when stopped.

Not sure what exactly your groan sounds like, but my escape seems to do that from 68k when I bought it to 114k km now. I have tried undercoating, changed one engine mount and exhaust hangers, but it is still not as quiet at idle as other cars. It seems like kind of cabin resonance at idle. For the engine speed higher than 1000 rpm the escape is very smooth.

I used a heavy duty zip tie on one of mine some 25K miles ago. I put a dub of silicone on the tie to keep it in place.

Make sure the satellite radio box you buy is compatible with the plugs in the Escape. Be it Phase 2 or T100. The box also needs to be compatible for radios with the SAT button, not the AUX button. After all that it's just plug and play.
