In many cities in the States you will find Engilsh Language schools that help the "student" get the visa. Some of these schools are not expensive. This will give your baba something to do and a group of new friends so she will feel happier in the States.

If you do not have personal exxperience with this, and/or are not knowledgable about the details of the law, please do not mislead/lead on this poster with conjecture/information whose validity you may not be sure of through experience vis-a-vis Brazilians. For example, the reality is that very few (like none, really) ESL schools can suceed in obtaining visas for Brazilian students currently, and the interview at the Consulate weeds out most...

Ditto on Confianca. Used them twice for 20 foot containers from US and had no problems. Also used them to ship from city to city here.

yeah like i said.. every pizza place has their own style and personality.. and like everything else in brazil if it's cheaper than the rest.. there's a reason why. And it's not a good one.

New Kitchens/New Cupboards. HELP!!

If you have bought a lancemento (brand new but bare walls with absolutely no existing storage) then I would say, depending the size (over 100m2), R$50K is not a bad price if you want a clean, modern look in a couple of bedrooms, a kitchen, laundry and perhaps vanity units in the various bathrooms. My wife paid the tax because she thought that for that much it had to be some real good stuff. Boy was she pissed when she saw the lousy tee-shirt.

OK then - first Curitiba vs SP. SP has appalling traffic, pricey real estate, pollution, crime and not enough green space, Curitiba wins in those categories. But Curitiba just doesn't feel like Brazil. It's cold, both the weather and the people, who tend to have their heads shoved where the sun don't shine IMO, it's also very very boring, and lacks the vibrancy of SP and its ...

By way of history. Brazil was a Portuguese colony (hence olive oil). Black Pepper was mainly brought to Europe from South East Asia by the Dutch. The portuguese used Brazil mainly to grow stuff to be shiped back to portugal so why bring peper there. Peper was expensive as hell, so why use it in the food of slaves? The first black peper was planted for comercial use in brazil by...

Definitely come down and do some research first...for a year or so. The target market would be a rifle shot but dedicated. Start up costs would be high and failure potential above US "disputed" rate of 60%. I think you should try living here for 6 mo or a year before opening. Good luck. I made the move from LA last year.
