Hi Layton, I have posted on this elsewhere! In a supposed environment, of competition, a monopolising of services, I understand, does not best serve the interests of the consumer! Drivers, of Hackney Licensed vehicles pay for the right to pick up passengers on demand! Is that right or wrong?? Private hire operators, are licenced as such and agree to the terms of said licence!, and it is their choice to operate as such! right or wrong? Why...

Supreme court in Banks back pocket!

If you actually read the entire story, the supreme court was 100% correct. It said that under the current mode and grounds of investigation the OFT cannot go any further. However it has multiple other options. The reason? When we opened the bank accounts we know ther were charges. The banks never tried to trick us over it. Now as for the size of the charges, the OFT is free to persue them but not under the guidance it has been using.

JOHN you are right a hackney can be hailed in the street anywhere as long as he has his for hire sign on private hire have to be pre booked and cannot pick up direct from being hailed in the street I know im an ex taxi driver _________________

hi tp never expected it to go any other way,it is beyond a joke the banks have now been giving a free rein,and you can be sure of one thing they will up charges to recover what they paid out in refunds.
what happens now do the banks suddenly start taking back from the people that were payed out with interest will more people be thrown into ruin because of this decision.

I agree with your comment on the moderation. Something really needs to be done about that.
Offering mod abilities to some of the sensible, trustworthy regulars on here would probably be ideal as there seems to be very little mod presence on here other than JohnR.
